ABSTRACT
Background: Salt is one of the needs that is a complement to food needs and isa sourceof electrolytes for the human body. Thelack of public knowledge about the importance of iodized garm for health is concerned about the types and benefits of iodized salt consumed will affect the impact caused by diseases caused by iodine deficiency. This study aims to describe the use of iodized salt and how it is used in households in Kampung Mekar Indah, Silih Nara District.
Method: This study used a cross-sectional method with a total sample of 51 people
selected with proportionate stratified random sampling in housewives of Kampung Mekar Indah, Silih Nara District. Data collection includes sample characteristics, how salt is used, fierce use, maternal knowledge, maternal attitudes and maternal education. Data
analysis used the Chi-Square statistical test to analyze the relationship between maternal
education and salt use, analyze maternal knowledge with salt use and analyze maternal
attitudes with salt use.
Result: There is a relationship between education and the use of iodized salt with a pvalue of 0.034 (p
