Uji Efektivitas Ekstrak Etanol Alga Merah (Eucheuma Cottonii) Sebagai Anti Jamur Terhadap Candida Albicans

This study aimed to determine the effect of ethanol extract of red algae (Eucheuma cottonii) in inhibiting the growth of Candida albicans. This research was conducted by Kirby Bauer disc diffusion method which consists of five, namely the commission of distilled water (control), Eucheuma cottonii ethanol extract 80%, 40%, 20% and 10% respectively with four replications. Based on the results obtained for the treatment of ethanol extract 80%, 40%, 20% and 10% respectively had an average diameter of inhibition zone of 11.80 mm, 9.90 mm, 8.73 mm and 7.73 mm. Anova test showed that the ethanol extract of Eucheuma cottonii very influential in inhibiting the growth of Candida albicans (P= 0.000).
