Cervical cancer is a malignant disease that occurs in the cervix, took second place causes of death in women worldwide after breast cancer. Early detection coverage in Indonesia is less than 5% so many cases of cervical cancer is found at an advanced stage that often causes death, unknowing of Indonesian women on the dangers of cervical cancer must be treated with more emphasis on promotive, preventive dissemination, advocacy and education in various elements of the community . Visual inspection of acetic acid (VIA) is an alternative method of simple replacement Pap smear, cervical cancer aims to detect early as possible with a direct view on the changes in the epithelial tissue of the cervix after soundly 3-5% acetic acid solution, the results can be seen in 1-2 minutes extend to areas with limited resources. To determine the effectiveness of health education interventions on knowledge and attitudes of fertile aged couples about cervical cancer and methods of screening VIA in Puskesmas Ingin Jaya, Aceh Besar. This study is the experimental quasy non equivalent control group pretest - posttest design,the subjects in this study are the fertile aged couples that is in the the Puskesmas Ingin Jaya, Aceh Besar, the number of study subjects each of 27 persons in the intervention and control groups with a total 54 respondents. Bivariate analysis showed there were statistically significant differences between intervention groups with health education lectures using slides and distribution of the book module and method of cervical cancer screening of VIA and the control group using the book module for self education about cervical cancer and screening of VIA method to increase value of the average of mean difference in knowledge about cervical cancer, attitudes about cervical cancer, knowledge of the methods and attitudes about screening of VIA method, with P value
