Pemanfaatan Lumpur Selokan Sebagai Bahan Baku Pembuatan Biogas Dengan Metode Batch Feeding
Sewage sludge is synonymous with a dirty foul and pungent smell and the number of germs. In a big city sewage sludge is already common sight as many encountered in gutters residential complex or a residential population. The best solution to the problem of sewage sludge is to utilize the biogas technology. Biogas is an alternative energy fermented from organic impurities that produce methane gas. The purpose of this study was to utilize sewage sludge as a raw material for making biogas with batch feeding method. This was an experimental research to observe the utilization of sewage sludge as raw material for biogas production in batch fedding method which was implemented in Ketapang, Aceh Besar District, on the date of June 10 to July 21, 2013. The research subject was domestic sewage sludge as much as 30 kg for 3 times repetitions. Data analysis by using descriptive in a graph formation made by biogas bacth method of feeding sewage sludge were added as much as 30 pounds in 2 weeks. The study resulted that the biogas pressure with the use of households sewage sludge biogas in first repetition with an average of 31 833 N/m2. In the second repetition it was resulted that the pressure of biogas with average 35.12 N/m2. And the third repetition resulted that the avarege of biogas pressure was 25 766 N/m2. The average volume of gas obtained from the use of sewage sludge biogas households was 2,065 l. The average length of the flame produced by the utilization of sewage sludge biogas households was 27 seconds. Based on this, it can be concluded that sewage sludge can be used as a raw material for biogas production with bacth feeding method. It is expected to further research needs to be conducted for early control of the digester attention especially on the early formation of biogas digester to avoid leakage.
